Reiki brings calmness back to your life and promotes emotional, mental, and physical healing. It is conducted by laying hands on different areas on the body and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki energy is channeled through the healer to the guest, ultimately restoring a sense of peace and balance.

Having its roots in Indian, Tibetan, and Chinese medicine, Ayurveda (pronounced ‘aa-yer-vay-da’ ) dates back well over 5000 years and has been dubbed the “Mother of All Medicine”. Ayurveda, which literally means Knowledge of Life, takes a natural approach to health and well-being by restoring balance and strengthening the body’s inherent healing wisdom. Our new Ayurvedic spa treatments will draw upon this ancient wisdom to create an experience that will awaken and rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit to its original harmonious state. In the tradition of Ayurveda, the practitioner will determine your present dosha, or body constitution, and customize the entire treatment to meet your specific needs and goals. You can expect a deeply relaxing experience where every opportunity is taken to ensure your comfort and aid in releasing the most deeply rooted toxins, tensions, and traumas.
Ayurveda is based on the fundamental concept that no two people are alike. Therefore, any one diet or lifestyle habit is unlikely to benefit every person in the same way.
Ayurvedic Practitioners use a well balanced, healthy diet, lifestyle changes, stress relief and herbal remedies to heal all sorts of conditions by helping to bring the body back in balance. The overall belief is that disease and suffering results from an imbalance in the three doshas, which are ways of categorizing the body’s three basic energy types: Vata, Pitta, Kapha
Your Ayurvedic practitioner, Omedhya Senasekara, conducts a complete health assessment and determines your Prakriti. She will conduct a tongue and pulse diagnosis to feel and look fro imbalances in your doshas. Based upon this assessment, a personalized body/mind/spirit health-enhancing prescription is formulated, including recommendations on diet, stress management, exercise, emotional healing, nutrition, specific body work treatment and herbal supplements.
